As Growth Accelerates, Amp Americas Expands Senior Leadership Team, Moves Corporate Headquarters To New Chicago Office
CHICAGO (April 14, 2021) – Amp Americas, a pioneer in the renewable transportation fuel industry, today announced that it has bolstered its leadership team with the addition of two accomplished leaders in the energy space. Ethan Hendricks has been appointed Chief of Staff to CEO and VP of RNG Marketing and Steven Hillyard has been appointed VP of Project Delivery.
Amp Americas also announced today that it has moved its corporate headquarters to a significantly larger office in Chicago to support its rapidly growing team. Located at 2001 N. Clybourn Ave., the new office space occupies the entire fourth floor of a brick and timber loft style building in the heart of Chicago’s vibrant Lincoln Park neighborhood. With a current headcount of 60, the company plans to add over 30 new employees over the next year.
“We’ve more than tripled headcount in the last year with top-tier talent, many of which previously held leadership and engineering positions in oil and gas,” said Grant Zimmerman, CEO of Amp Americas. “As the world transitions away from fossil fuels, we are proud to be leading the way in creating significant climate impact and improving air quality. We are applying some of the world’s best energy expertise from the old fuels industry as we invest in the new fuels that are critical to energy transition and the world’s drive to net zero.”
As Chief of Staff and VP of RNG, Ethan Hendricks will oversee Amp Americas’ RNG marketing business. Hendricks will also be responsible for underwriting the company's new development projects, researching and developing cases for new business initiatives, project and process management, and contributing to corporate strategy. Prior to joining Amp Americas, Hendricks was VP of Development at Bay Point Food Group, a private agribusiness investment company. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at COFCO, one of the biggest buyers of agricultural commodities in the world, and at Milk Source, one of the largest dairy farming companies in the U.S. Hendricks started his post MBA career as an agribusiness strategy analyst at Rabobank. He earned his MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business and his BA with honors in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and Economics from Northwestern University.
“I grew up in Wisconsin in a county with more cows than people, and spent most of my career in agribusiness. I am thrilled to be able to marry my personal and professional history and to be able to produce renewable energy with a team of incredibly impressive pioneers,” said Ethan Hendricks, Chief of Staff to CEO and VP of RNG Marketing at Amp Americas. “It’s been exciting to visit our existing and prospective farming partners, and I am looking forward to building new partnerships with some of the folks I've worked with in the past.”
In the role of VP of Project Delivery, Steven Hillyard will be responsible for leading the planning, development and execution of the company’s greenfield renewable natural gas projects. Hillyard brings over thirty years of industry experience in the development, execution and delivery of major capital projects, most recently as partner and general manager at a major project management consultancy firm. He has led the development and delivery of over $400 billion dollars of global capital projects in the oil and gas industry. Previously, he was VP Project Management at Quanta, and has held positions at ExxonMobil, Shell Oil Company, and various engineering services companies. Hillyard holds a BS from Murray State University and an MBA from Loyola University.
“With a focus on continuous innovation and a reputation as an industry-leading pioneer, Amp is well-positioned to shape the future of renewable fuels, and I am excited to join this visionary team during a time of exciting growth,” said Steven Hillyard, VP of Project Delivery at Amp Americas.
