Jim Waddell

SENIOR COUNSEL

Jim Waddell joined Amp Americas in May 2016 and now serves as Senior Director and Senior Counsel. He leads the company’s legal department and oversees all contractual, compliance and risk management matters and practices.

Prior to joining Amp Americas, Jim worked in the Financial Institutions Underwriting Department at Chubb Insurance, where he managed the specialty risk portfolios of large U.S.-based asset managers and banks. He began his career as a litigator in Chicago, with a focus on contract, employment and insurance disputes. He also counseled small business owners in entity structuring, asset management and liability preclusion.

Jim received his JD and MBA at Loyola University Chicago and his BA in Economics from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. Outside of work, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and is an avid sailor and water-skier.
